Parkinson's disease is a degenerative neurological condition which will never improve, will steadily get worse and for which there is no cure.
This is the cold hard truth as told to one of our members on the diagnosis of Parkinson’s by the Consultant. What the Consultant didn’t say was that EVERYONE is different , and that with care taken to find the correct drug regime, which is different for each person and the support of family, friends and fellow sufferers it is still possible to be a useful member of society. Ten years ago the then Parkinson’s disease Society (now Parkinson’s UK) decided to check the viability of starting a Support Group in the Epping/ Redbridge area. They advertised their intention in the local papers, calling a meeting for anyone interested at the Castle Pub Woodford Green. Some 12 people attended and from that humble beginning has grown a fully fledged Branch of Parkinson’sU K with a membership in excess of 160.
Come along and see if we can help, or maybe you can help us.
