Who cares for the Carer when the Carer cannot care?

WE  DO, but it is difficult if we are un-aware of the need.

Part of the remit of the Carers section is, without being intrusive, to

recognise when special needs arise and here we have the classic

Catch 22 situation. The bigger the problem & the more the need, the less likely the carer can get away for  an hour or so to have a coffee or a pub lunch. Cost has to be considered, it s difficult to justify the hire cost 0f a professional  carer   to go for a cake and a drink, although there are times when such a break is invaluable.

At present we have a monthly tea/coffee afternoon at somebody's house

(Volunteers for this please)The October date is Monday the 20th, and the November one is the 17th. There was a pub lunch  at the Royal Forest Hotel Chingford  on Monday 22nd. attended by nine carers who had a very enjoyable lunch and a chat, there were some new members and we hope that at the next one in the new year we will get some MEN
